Neighbor Question about Moonbounce

Anonymous
Wow that's rude. And what I've discovered is when someone does something this blatantly rude, they are not going to care if you call them out on it. In their minds, they're perfectly entitled to put the moonbounce in your yard. After all, it's convenient for them, so what do they care?

I think you should go park in their driveway.

I'd worry about liability, as well.

If it's blocking the street, I'd even call the cops.

OP, do you have kids? If yes, did they invite your kids to the party? Or are your kids going to have to watch other kids using a moon bounce in their own yard, that they weren't even invited to use?

I'd probably just let it go (although, I may be worried about liability as well and if I thought it was a risk maybe I'd ask them to move it).

It was rude of them to do it without asking though. I'd be sure to tell them that and ask them to ask you for permission the next time they borrow your property or put something in front of your house.

Same in MoCo. OP, I might be annoyed, but I agree with those who say let it go. What good would come of saying something?

Set up a sprinkler to water that corner of the yard before the party begins.

OP, I actually saw this moonbounce today and figured out that you live very close to me in DC. (hi there).

What's even more astonishing about this moonbounce-in-the-street is that the party hosts blocked off a secondary arterial street in the District.

You know, a thru street that isn't allowed to have speed bumps installed, ever, because emergency vehicles use that road as their go-to thru street.

There was a MPD officer there, so I assume the whole thing was legit and permitted but .... since when does a private residential party for tots get precedence to close down a thru arterial in the District, 2 blocks from a Metro?

Good question. Still so rude of them.

Are the neighbors rich and connected?

how can you put a moonbounce in a street? That makes no sense to me.

OP, if they managed to do this, they must have some connections or something. Woudln't risk crossing them.

Where is this -- cc, dc?

21:45 - I don't care WHO the neighbors think they are. Get those sprinklers out! Seriously, OP do it!

Neighbors are rude *ssholes--did they invite your kids? This is a liability issue. If those kids have to set one foot on your property to access the moon bounce and you have tacitly agreed to give them the right of way to access it--then you will share liability for any injury that ensues with your neighbor and the moon bounce company.
