It's thought to be helpful for improving egg quality in AMA women. There is a Canadian study showing that CoQ10 improved mitochondrial function and ovarian response in "old" mice.

I would recommend trying it if you are AMA. The dosage is 600-800mg/day, which you can split up, morning and night. I got pregnant the first month I was taking it (on a break from fertility treatments, so no other meds or help that cycle) - it was probably too soon for it to really have helped, but of course in my mind there's a connection, so I think it can work. There really aren't any negative side effects to it, so it's worth a shot. I don't think it's considered helpful if you are dealing with non-age-related infertility, but I'm not sure about that. I know the study was specifically looking at age-related egg quality issues. |
