Confused re baby clothes: are these footie things PJs or daytime clothes?

Forgot to add that get them with zippers - much easier than snaps!

3 months old, footies 90% of the time, no shame. She's happy and comfy, so we're happy and comfy.

They can be used as either one.

We used them during the newborn stage up until around 3 or 4 months, which is when we began using actual outfits during the day. Mostly comfy pants, onesies, shirts, and one piece rompers. Target, Children's Place, and Old Navy have fairly inexpensive baby clothes which is where we get most of our stuff.

DS is 5 months and i feel weird bringing him to daycare even though we have a million of them and they're cute. i can't put my finger on why this feels weird, but for now he only wears them at night and wears "outfits" (including one piece rompers, but not with feet) during the day.

I know why I feel weird about it. It's because I'm convinced people will judge me and assume that the sleeper is what DS wore the night before.

we did footie sleepers too as day clothes. When winter happened, I put clothes OVER them. I felt that was warm and if a pant leg or shirt rode-up, my child still would be warm.

I regularly take my baby to daycare in the same clothes she wore to bed. The idea of daytime clothes being different than sleeping clothes just does not make it onto my radar until the kid is much older.

We had winter babies and wore the one piece outfits as daytime clothes all during the colder months. They are good in spring and autumn too if the baby is starting to crawl.

I look back fondly on earlier times in my life, when being a rebel meant something more than daring to send my kid to daycare in clothes that didn't just come out of the sanitation machine.

Babies are too young for the walk of shame to apply..

Ha! I remember being baffled by the same thing. And I also remember the day when we started changing DD into different clothes to sleep in, because the first few weeks (maybe months), we just changed her clothes at random times during the day and since she wasn't sleeping through the night the first couple months, it didn't really feel like there was a set time to put her in pajamas. How things have changed! But anyway: We used the footie things as PJs once we finally started putting her in different clothes at night. We LOVED Stretchies at Children's Place: http://www.childrensplace.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category_10001_10001_-1_132888_newborn_24101|132920|132888_newborn|girls|stretchies because they had zippers and were just easier to deal with for diaper changes in the middle of the night.

We didn't move DS out of footies until the weather turned too warm for him to wear them. He was going through 2-3 outfits a day anyway, so I didn't feel like sleep/cleanliness was an issue. And they're so cute!

We'd put DD in a clean one every night and in the morning just get a clean diaper before going to Daycare drop off. Then again arrive home take a bath get s clean one and start over. She was not a spitter though
