1st grade-are you seeing reading group books yet-MCPS

Got our first group reading book this week. They will be coming home twice a week. Ok so you child is an ace at reading, how about writing and comprehension? I hear so many parents say what level reading their child is at and can't figure out why they aren't considered gifted. Well they have to be able to write and comprehend what they are reading to truly be gifted in Reading.
