wash in vinegar or borax

I've tried Borax but it doesn't seem to work. I read the directions on the box and throw in 1/2 cup with the wash. Not separately or anything. Is that what you do?

Same idea with vinegar? Just throw it in while the washer is filling? Or do I wait for a later cycle?

Thanks.

What about for drying dishes? Surely you must need a few.

If I wash dishes by hand then I have a drying drain and let them air dry but most go in dishwasher. I do have a couple of towels out for decoration and rest of family knows to use paper towels when drying hands or for cleanup. I read somewhere about the 10 dirtiest things and no. 1 was bottom and handle of a woman's purse and another was kitchen towels and sponges.

Do you use the flour sack towels to wipe your hands also? Or just for dishes.

I've had my Williams Sonoma Outlet towels for over 5 yrs. DH has man handled a few and they are stained but for the most part, no problems.

I only use the flour sack towels for dishes. Paper towels for drying hands.

Mu microfiber - get them at Hills Kitchen in Eastern Market. Hard to get excited about dish towels, but these do it for me
