I just got a Bankamericard Cash Rewards card. I get $150 if I spend $500 in the first 90 days (easy), then 2% back for groceries, 3% back for gas, and 1% back for everything else (with quarterly limits on the cash back for gas and groceries). PLUS -- and I am really excited about this part -- if I deposit my rewards into a BoA account, I get an additional 10%.

I'm just going to put in a plug for Discover. I have had my Discover card for years and I love it compared to my Citi MasterCard.

Discover does 1% cashback, but also 5-10% cashback with various online retailers (LandsEnd, Macy's, Children's Place).

Plus Discover's customer service is wonderful. They are always polite and helpful. They've caught 2 incidents of fraud and it was handled smoothly. Can't say enough good thing about them, versus the customer service at MC , which has been outsourced and is horrible.
