You are too kind! Embarrassed to confess DH not deployed--just TAD, but out of contact. Fellow Marine neighbors came over at 11PM last night and helped try to minimize damage, but now that it's pouring again, I have a waterfall in my kitchen, and a whole rectangle of drywall is mush. Good grief. Very happy about the new baby! No worries about who the daddy is Funny thing is, last time I got pregnant, he was TAD around the approximate conception date just like this time, and I'm due on the same day as last time. What's the message I'm supposed to get from that?

Evacuating houses in Huntington area in Alexandria. 495 closed in both directions.
Man tubing down Lee Hwy during flash flood. Mother Nature must have been dumped by her boyfriend. |
MARC Brunswick line stopped before Germantown - fear of the tracks being washed out. They're trying to arrange buses. What a mess. |
Many HUGS to you poster with roof leak. Have been through leaks, floods, etc and it SUCKS!!!! Sounds like you are staying positive. CONGRATS on the new baby!!!! What general area are you in? If you are near me I could help you out in anyway you want provides my kids don't go bonkers, but my neighborhood is somewhat flooded so it would have to be walking distance. Of course my kids going bonkers as I help might add to your stress! Glad you have support near you! Please let us know how things go. Hope you have a good roofer! |
| On a happy note, my dogs are having a blast in the new lake in our front yard. It's so entertaining to watch them . |

495 is closed at the mixing bowl, east bound, presumably at least to Eisenhower/Telegraph/Edsall, as there is flooding on the highways there. Parts of 66 and 95 are closed too.
This is MAY-JUH, people. I feel really sorry for anyone who is out there commuting tonight. 5-day rain totals of 10-15" are being reported in some D.C. metro area cities. |
| Yay for the Hurriquake Monsoon baby! Congrats, PP. |
| IT'S THE RAPTURE!!! |
It's not, right? (Right?)

I have been thinking it is getting close - in the last few weeks there was an earthquake, Hurricane Irene, and then this - all unusual events for this area. |
Natural disasters and events are nothing new. People keep thinking it's the "end times" when really not much has changed. |
When the locusts show up and the seas turn to boiling blood, THEN we'll know. (Hope I got that right. Lapsed Catholic here. We don't read the Bible; that's the clergy's job. )
