i bought some of the WF brand coconut oil. it is almost a liquid in the jar, but i thought it was supposed to be more solid. i do not refrigerate it. is this a problem?

Coconut oil will melt above 65 degrees. No problem at all. It will resolidify when it cools.

I've never tried it in anything savory, but it's a great sub for butter in sweet stuff. Granola, apple crisp, etc. I'll have to experiment with it in cookies...

It works great in curry like things too.

We get the Nutiva brand and it is completely solid (we keep it in the cabinet).

It is solid because your house is cool. I find the liquid state is closer to 70-72 degrees. I prefer using it in a liquid state as it is easier to measure but my house is never that warm in winter!

Isn't it really unhealthy? Like high in saturated fats?
