Don't be absurd, of couse the kids will suffer. Already their other classmates know and while OP has done the right thing, many parents will not. Possibly, some parents will have harsh reactions and "Like father, like son," will no doubt said; no one is going to let their daughters go out with him. If it were me, I would move, change their last name to my maiden name and do my best to give them a fresh start. People are cruel.

Honestly, while OP did good, it is reason enough to be nice to others. Really, you don't know what kind of revenge people have on the brain. Just don't f*ck with people. While not everyone is a killer (obviously) not everyone takes games well. I'm not saying the killer was justified, of course, but being nicer has its own payoffs. Not fake, just nicer.

Just a suspect right now but OF COURSE HE DID IT! Who takes out a $1.5 million life insurance on their passenger for a few days trip that he is not even related to. Something stinks and its not the fish in the ocean!
