Curtains and Blinds - any suggestions for where to buy that don't cost a fortune?

Blindsgalore.com or Americanblinds.com have great sales. No, they do not install, but it wasn't that hard. Measuring was a little nervewracking though, but we got it right after we watched the video. Saved hundreds doing it this way.

Ten times the quality of JC Penney, et al and probably twice the cost. Their customer service is also great. My blackout cellular shades for a 51 X 78 window was $278. I have an enormous sliding glass door that covers the expanse of one whole wall. We needed curtains that were 10'X 12'. We got them from the shade store for $1200, which is a lot of money, no doubt, but seemed like a bargain when two other curtain stores quoted us between $8K-$9K!
