Missing 22 Year Old from NW DC

He's a journalist, don't judge. Twitter and FB have actually proven to be very useful in situations like this (finding missing persons). My heart goes out to this family. So, so sad.

The decedent was found in a parked car on a street in Chevy Chase by a neighbor walking his dog.

I don't understand. He was missing for a week from CC and they knew what car he was in but he wasn't found before now?
Anonymous
That is exactly correct. He was found in his car a block from his family home in CC DC. Many people passed by the car but didn't see him inside.

This sounds morbid but it CAN be helpful to document these things LIVE as they happen. More accurate than a memory...

journalist or not, I think this pretty disgusting.

How do you know it's the father? Someone can do it for him.

You know what? It would be even worse if some CNN intern was twittering and pretending to be the dad and typing things like this:

"No positive ID until the coroner let's me see..."

How in the world would this be possible? They were searching for his car. Search parties were formed, flyers were up. How would it be possible that they hadn't noticed the car on their block? I am very confused...

And that no one for days noticed a body slumped in the front seat? It was a residential area with cars parked in front and behind it. You would think many neighbors or someone would have noticed if it had been there long.

How do you know the car was found a block away from their home? Just curious, that does seem very odd.

The neighbor who found the car posted to the CC listserv. He also noted that the combination of dark clothing and the dark car interior made it impossible to see the slumped body unless you were standing right next to the car.

I think everyone should just hold off on judging the parents. It does seem a bit odd to me, but I hope to god I never have to walk in their shoes. No real idea of how I would react. I don't know any of the family, but the boy certainly looked like a sweet soul.

Was the car there all along?

While i agree the postings are a bit odd, perhaps that is how the family felt was the easiest way to keep everyone updated. I cant imagine the heart ache and pain they are going through. Perhaps blogging it is easier than having to repeat the information over and over to different family members and friends.
