sorry - don't care. i'm moving 1700 miles away. i'm not driving a toddler for 35 hours in a car because you don't want to deal with my cat. the airline allows it so i'm doing it. sometimes it's not about you.

it's one thing to say that you have the right to do it, but you could at least acknowledge that it will bother other people.

i get that it would bug other ppl, but i don't think the hissy fit about it on dcum was necessary. trust me, i do not want to fly with the cat. the thought of it makes me crazy, but i have no choice. and frankly i do think that flying is a public activity and if someone runs that much of an allergy risk in public then maybe they're the one that shouldn't be flying.

First- i'm not the one that said your cat should die. Second, you're an off your rocker pet owner to think that the right to have a cat on the plane is greater than a person- or child to fly without a common allergen. Really- did you argue that smokers should be able to smoke and restaurants and people bothered by it shouldn't eat out?

This cat lover is probably the same person who complains on DCUM that the person beside her is too fat. But your cat in the cargo where it belongs!!!! Other normal people put their dogs there.

no, but i think some ppl on here are over the top with this. you said it best - its a common allergen. my DH is asthmatic. strong cologne sets him off. but that isn't anybody else's problem to deal with but ours. he takes medicine and has his inhaler and understands that the rest of the world can't stop because of a common allergen. and for the record, we have 2 cats and there are 3 of us flying - if someone is that sensitive, the cumulative affect of cat hair on clothes and bags would be just as bad. just like a smoker with it on their clothes.

holy crap, no way! thats how animals die! i guarantee most people won't even notice my cat! jesus people, get over yourselves. its a big plane - we bought a whole row for this exact reason. you should be far more concerned about the person who has the flu or a cold sitting next to you! spare me your made up anger.

strong cologne isn't just his problem. it's truly discourteous to wear that on a place as well. we live in a community, people. think about others for a minute. and really? two cats? that's even worse.

I can only assume its the same for cats, but when you fly with a dog, you have to reserve a spot and pay extra. They will limit the number of dogs (service dogs not included) on the flight. If you are allergic, you can notify the airlines and I believe they will either notify you if a dog is already registered, or halt any future registration.

Airlines do not put pets in cargo during the summer months, because many beloved pets have died in cargo due to the heat.
