When do you find out who your child's teacher is?

In our school ( which is only about 20% Farms) only 40% of the school opt to receive e-mail notifications from the school.

Our school (in Rockville) puts the class lists out at 5:00 on Thursday. Open House is Friday morning. I know from teachers' comments that they are still jiggling the class lists around up until 5:00 on Thursday.

Ways you can stay in contact with your school:

Countywide - www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org (also has a twitter feed)

School by School - http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/#tabs - here you can find the school's website. Sometimes a really good way to find out what is going on is through the PTA. Some PTAs have listserves, facebook pages, twitter feeds that may or may not be up to date. Ask around your neighborhood of people who have schoolage children - they may know whether there's an active listserve/facebook or twitter feed.
