Meals my kids don't like

I made the cream of mushroom from scratch, for Pete's sake.

It was delicious. I had it for lunch today.

My kids don't like homemade mac and cheese.

Holy processed foods, Batman.

If you're going to feed them that processed crap, at least let it taste good - maybe a Big Mac?

I don't know what pps are talking about, that sounds delicious!

My DD won't eat blue berries.

She'll pick rosemary/sage/basil/parsley straight from the garden and eat it, but will pick it off her food.

Will eat shredded cheese out of the package but will pick it off her pizza.

OP here. OK, I'm feeling really defensive now.

Seriously? I mean, I know my kids didn't like it. I was just joking annoyed at them.

But "overly processed crap"?

I took a 8 oz of mushrooms and sauteed them in a white sauce. With onions, garlic, and (homemade) chicken stock.

I then added that to a pouch of fairly expensive salmon that I happened to have. Added cooked noodles, and a bunch of frozen peas.

I added a little white wine to the sauce for some flavor. that was it.

If that's "overly processed" I guess I have no hope of competing in the "More sanctimommier than you" Olympics.

My husband and I both thought the meal was delicious. And he's very particular about not liking frozen/processed foods.

It was salmon/tuna noodle casserole, just like my mom made for me (except she of course used Campbells, which I know is EVIL EVIL EVIL!!! so I make it from scratch).

Still my kids (ages 8 and 10) didn't like it half as much as I did growing up.

Of course they don't like anything, so what do they know?

That's funny, PP.

I'm not surprised. My four-year-old daughter doesn't like anything where all the ingredients are mixed like that. No stews, no pot pies, no casseroles. She's a champ about eating all her vegetables and whatnot, she just doesn't want them all cooked together in a sauce.

As for your recipe, OP, I think there's nothing nastier than processed/ packaged salmon. Seriously, I'd rather eat spam. But sub out the salmon for tuna, and ditch the potato chip topping, and it sounds pretty good!

Except I don't think she used packaged salmon. . . .

OP, I don't think it's overly processed, it just doesn't sound at all good to me. Or to a lot of other posters. Or to your kids. Or to my kids. Some dinner attempts are just busts.

We had that dish as a kid with tuna instead of salmon. If it's drowned in enough potato chips -- it's tolerable. Otherwise, it's horrible. I don't blame your kids. Like an earlier poster...my brother would never eat food that touched each other. He still won't!

OP I agree with you with salmon from a pouch this should be delish. My kids will eat smoked salmon baked over golden mashed potatoes. With sauteed vidalia onion an spinach mixed in. I''ve got weird kids though.

DS doesn't like mac and cheese. Odd because he likes pasta otherwise and loves cheese.

OP, You lost me at "FROZEN PEAS". I'm not sure why anyone uses them for anything (unless you grow them on your garden, then you're forgiven because thy are so sweet off the vine.)
But it just green starchy flavorless mush. Any recipe that calls for green peas is just as good without them.
