
I still remember my college drop off. Tons of parents stayed well into the evening and a lot of them stayed for the weekend. My mom was the drop and run type and I was ok with that but I did get a lot of questions from both kids and parents as to why my mom left so quick. |

OP here. For the weekend? Nope, not allowed. The students had a mandatory hall meeting at 7:00 pm (an hour after the picnic ended). That signalled the official beginning of orientation. They made it clear! No parents were to be on campus by the time that meeting started. |
I hope she has a great season! Good luck. My dd had a similar experience with her first day of college rowing the day we dropped her off. We saw the coach and he told her about the "voluntary" workout...which actually was not "voluntary". But, it's really nice for the athletes to have some instant friends, to be part of a team, and to have to be really disciplined to get everything done.
