ADHD trait? Sensory trait, or just willful and in need of continuous correction

I am guessing there is a complicated back story here as it is unusual for 6 and 7 year-olds to be away from their parents for this amount of time.

I would try a few things before calling their mother. You may have done this already but have you set very clear rules, gently but firmly tell them that there is no screeching in your house, then remind them of the rule in the car and make sure they understand and repeat the rule to you?
,aybe they are just different from your kids, they sound like my son but he is only 5.
We have to get him outside to a park or something similar pretty soon after breakfast, allow him to really run around and get out some of that energy, definitely before anything like church.
They may just be sort of begging for attention and stimulation
