Fish sticks and a giant salad.
Rotelli pasta, marinara, and meatballs. Roasted brussels sprouts and scrambled eggs. Vegetable soup and grilled cheese. Red beans and rice (lately, we've been doing quinoa instead of rice) Refried beans (so quick to make), salsa (jarred most days, homemade on summer weekends), a little cheese, tortilla; avocado if we have a ripe one |
| now I know why DH is so thankful my parents sent me to cooking school for two months post college... |
Former poster here. While I never went to cooking school I do know how to cook. The issue is finding the time and energy to cook something that everyone will eat. I have a cache of quick meals and other meals. The more intensive meals I usually cook on the weekends if I have the chance and then we eat the leftovers earlier in the week. |

Monday: "Meatless Monday". Usually some kind of pasta
Tuesday: "Taco Tuesday". Not always Tacos, but something Mexican Wednesday: Crock Pot Thursday: Leftovers or soup and sandwiches Friday: "Stir Fry-Day" or Fish During Lent Saturday: "Seafood Saturday" Sunday: We go out to eat after church and everyone fends for themselves for supper. |
Have you already posted your top 5? And do you have kids? |

We have 3 kids (3,3 and 7)
Dried or refridgerated pasta and jarred sauce and a frozen veg side or baby carrots veggie burgers and buns with frozen veg side or baby carrots spagetti with homemade sauce and frozen veg side or baby carrots (2 of three kids don't eat the sauce) black beans or lentils and rice and frozen veg side or baby carrots (2 of 3 kids don't eat the beans) I'll make other quick things for the kids if they won't eat what I make, but not another whole meal. |

I am right there with you on the boredom. Add a picky 6 yr old, a husband that isn't thrilled with veggies and my sensitivity to carbs (they bloat me up look the Goodyear blimp), and I detest meal planning. I followed my mother's lead and came up with a list of 5 sample weeks of menus. Here are some of the menus:
* bbq ribs, corn, green salad * baked crab cakes, corn, "waldorf" salad w/ broccoli slaw * grilled flank steak, broccoli * grilled lemon chicken, green beans * pulled BBQ chicken, peas * black bean soup & quesadillas * roasted shrimp and grape tomatoes on sauteed spinach * baked cranberry chicken, green beans * sweet & sour pork w/ carrots, peppers, pea pods over brown rice * cheese ravioli, italian sausage, broccoli w/ olive oil and parmesan * shake & bake chicken, frozen veggies * chicken apple sausage, frozen veggies * pot roast w/ carrots, baby onions and potatoes |
