UVa Question

Ncaa championships in basketball (men and women) /football, the 3 most difficult UVa zero. UMD has 200 ACC championships dwarfing Uva. UMD has more Pulitzer prize alumni and faculty than Uva. UMD has more Nobel prize alumni and faculty than Uva. UMD dwarfs Uva in annual research funding. UMd alumni created/invented the following.... google, the muppets, seinfeld, the miniature insulin pump, coronary stents, The Wire, The Boondocks, broke Watergate, the hybrid engine, The universal price code, the octane system, the automatic parachute, retractable landing gear, pulse doppler radar, linear programming, launched sirius satellite, founded nautica and Outback Steakhouse, Designed the first large screen stadium television, created frequent flyer programs, syndicated Baywatch, wrote Apollo 13....

Uva alumni have not matched any of these creative achievements many of which our culture depends on. They do perform a mean real estate settlement however.

Why all the angst? Send your kids to UMD. We'll send ours to UVA (if UVA would accept them). For big (out of) state schools, our FC high schoolers prefer Penn State to UMD, 15:0.

On a funny note Penn State just finished 2nd in the douchiest college in the U.S.A. in GQ. The reasons are hilarious! Cornell was #1 (since they get no respect in the ivy league and act douchy)

I'd say I have to google "douchy" but I don't know if the angry UMD poster will allow me to -- apparently we can only use the inventions spurred from our alma maters.

Hilarious. Sadly, some parents and kids now will add a column for "Douche Factor" on their list of potential colleges Excel spreadsheet. (I guess a little douchiness is a plus but too much is bad, right?)

I'll let you use Google....but if you act up, I'm not allowing you to watch Seinfeld re-runs, barring you from wearing Under Armour, not allowing you to buy from stores that use the Universal Price code at checkout, retroactively allowing Nixon to complete his term and.......removing the retractable landing gear from your next flight. So watch out!

I went to University of New Orleans. If I could only use inventions from there, I'd be naked and drunk on a daiquiri.

I lived in C'ville for 2 years. It's a douchy city. Crazy high superiority complex. hated it. I loved, however, the horse races. Drunk girls, boys wearing "critter" pants and shorts with bowties and button downs. Great people-watching.

I used to travel to UMD for work and I don't like that place. It's so run down. and the city looks nasty.

6 x safer than cville. (especially for lacrosse playing females).

shorts and bowties are sad....grow a pair.

I question the maturity/sanity of alma mater-obsessed adults in general. But I have noticed this bizarre behavior from several UMDer's. UMD, Really? It's just so peculiar. Go back to College Park. Really. We won't mind.

shorts, buttondowns and bowties.....and we wonder why no inventions of consequence have ever come forth from that fine establishment.

I will admit..UMD grads are less mature...we skipped the bow ties shorts and buttondowns to storm rt 1 and have FUN!!! We are dreamers and doers...thats why we invent and produce so much. We are however immature.
