Surf and turf is a classic.

I am really surprised by the number of people suggesting Champagne?! Just ... no.
Heading off to Maine this week, where we will not be ordering Champagne when we get lobster every day .... |
Me too! Although I've been known to get a glass of champagne with a lobster dish at a nice restaurant. But sitting outside, on the water, with a big lobster, and an ear of corn - no. The wine list in lobster shacks isn't exactly to die for, so I stick with beer. |
I grew up in NE and while lobster from a shack is great, it's also true that if you are having a nice dinner for people then champagne pairs very well with lobster. |
| On a related note, where is a good place for lobster that is not too expensive? |
restaurant or retail store? |
| either or both |

If you want the cheapest live lobster you should check out the Asian groceries, like H-Mart. If you are willing to pay a little more, Salt River Lobster is a pretty good source-- they bring lobster down from ME on a weekly basis.
Freddys Lobster and Clams in Bethesda has started selling boiled lobster, and they are charging $19 for a 1 1/4 lobster (which is only a few $ more than Salt River would charge you for the live lobster). |
Why? |
| Blueberry pie for dessert. Definitely. |

Lobster with anything coconut is delicious!
I like it with a good riesling..... honestly, i like riesling with everything, so that's just me... a chocolate mousse with mangoes is a good finisher... |
This town is the model of conspicuous consumption and you are going to complain about me buying a $18 lobster tail and a $12 Delmonaco steak to grill on my deck? |
