Poll for those 5'9" and over: do you wear heels?

Anonymous
Another 5'9" here, with size 11 feet.

I've hated my feet ever since I was a teen, because it is so damn hard to find a good-looking pair of shoes that doesn't make you feet look like flippers! Rarely can I walk into a store and try an actual shoe on (ironically, Payless carries a selection of size 11 shoes, but quality is really low), so I do buy my shoes online, and they are mostly conservative with heel no higher than 2 inches. I'm also going for coverage so that my feet look smaller and narrower. I don't think I'm in the position to show off my feet in a pair of spiky heels. Unfortunately.

PPs with large feet, I know your pain..

Previous size 11 here, but they grew to 11 1/2 after DD. I thought finding 11s were hard, but 11 1/2 barely exists, except in drag queen styles.

5'10", size 12 shoe and I wear heels everyday. I had good friends early on that encouraged me to embrace my height and wear whatever shoes I liked.

I'm surprised everyone has trouble finding good shoes in large sizes. Zappos.com and Endless.com allows you to sort by size. Nordstrom is great. Payless is good for cheap shoes. I also have found that the Nine West outlet in downtown Silver Spring gets lots of large sizes.

5'9" and size 9.5/10; I avoid them. I don't need the height, don't need them to make my legs look good (they are fine on their own), and find them uncomfortable.

You must be a stick.

I'm 5'10" and routinely wear 2" heels. Hard to explain, but they feel very comfortable--yet, anything higher makes me feel too tall.

I'm "only" 5'8" (size 10 feet) and wear heels, but I find that as I get older, I wear them less because I'm more comfortable in flats on a purely physical level. I feel like life is too short to walk around in uncomfortable shoes.

I am 6 feet tall and 80% of the time I wear heels (between 1.5" to 2.75"). People often ask me if I am a model, so I probably look good while wearing them. My husband is a bit over 6 feet tall and although I am slightly taller when I wear heels, he loves when I wear them because an outfit looks much more polished than when I wear flats.

Yes, I wear them - low heels however. Heels just look right with business or dressy clothes, and make me look thinner and make my legs look better. I like finding cute, low heels.

I'm 5'-11" and never used to wear heels because I was so self concious about my height. Now that I'm in my mid 40s I don't care if I tower over everyone else because I feel so much more fashionable in heels. Althug 2"-3" is my max. I wear an 8.5 or a 9 so I don't have a problem with size. My DH is 6'-1" so I feel comfortable in heels when I'm out and about with him.

I am late to the thread but am replying regardless. I am 6" tall and wear heels regularly. My DH is 5'10" so I rarely wear heels over 2" as to not tower over him, but that aside...I am 6" tall. Which is tall. Not wearing heels doesn't make me short. But does make me look more pulled together and more importantly feel more pulled together, which increases my confidence.

Women really should not be that tall. It is almost an abnormality, and when I see really tall women I cringe at how odd they look and stand out from the crowd.

We do it on purpose just to piss you off.

I do stand out from the crowd...because I am tall and look good.
