Perfumed Underwear? (Jockey)

Anonymous
Smiling reading this - I also wear cheap jockey cotton underwear (I get them from the website when they have deals). My teen DD gets everything at VS or Gap Body. Much higher end stuff. But when I was in college Jockey was THE thing. I will say that the quality seems to have dropped signficantly - the stitching is always coming out on the bands, etc. They look old after just a few washings.

Yes, and that, unfortunately, is the case across the board. I used to love CK's underwear, these days it looks worn even before you buy it!

Couldn't it be a returned item, whose previous wearer was heavily perfumed.
Now, if she repackaged carefully, the store may have thought it was unopened.

I thought this also, but the last time I was at the store, I smelled several packages and they all were the same. It's the same 'powdery' scent.

Personally, I like Jockey because it's 100% cotton so it's not irritating in anyway. The last thing I want is perfumed undies!

If you were a dude, I think you'd be arrested... panty-sniffer!

What is this? Smells like perfume? Do they perfume their underwear before packaging??

I've washed it twice and can still smell it. Any ideas?

(Or, any other cheap undies recommendations?)

OP,

Why not just hang it up and go for these? They're comfortable, practical, and most of all, if you're not in the mood, they are certainly mood killers!

I thought that too when I was writing that post!

I'll try Kohl's! I did L&T because they had sent me a good coupon! And, I thought they were standard price. Thanks for the tip.

I actually find that VS' quality has declined anyway. I bought a few from there and the front seam wasn't even sewn down. What is that about?

My sister and I (both early 30s) were at VS this weekend. First we wandered through the Pink section and joked that we couldn't wear the stuff because we're not 15. Then we wandered around the other section and left because we couldn't find a "normal" bra. That is, something that was white or nude, not an extreme push-up plunge bra. Pfft.

The last time I went to VS was so many years ago and I boycott them now because when I asked for my size (34A) in a certain bra I wanted, "could you check in back" kind of thing, the bitch said, "those bras only come in normal sizes." Haven't returned to any VS since.

OP here. Nice!

But to be fair, the Jockey bikinis aren't really all that granny pantyish. They're the same style as the VS bikinis!

Ugh, that's terrible.

This is me. But I'll admit it. I have underwear from 2002.

I have Gap Body underwear from around that time too! It's great!

I would be really surprised if Jockey was putting a scent in their underwear, because of all of the customers who may have a sensitivity to scented products. OP, why don't you send them an email/call them to inquire? Who knows, maybe they'll send you something free!

I bought cotton Jockeys......... Bikini style at the Jockey store in Wrentham outlet. They had a perfumey smell.....nauseating !. I washed them several times and the smell would not go away so I just threw them out

Oh My Gosh!!!!
A year ago I bought Jockey ladies cotten underwear and they
smelled sooo powdery I had to return them.

The other day I was Belk in Raleigh and I decided to
give them another try. The Jockey sales rep was there
and I discussed this issue with her. She said she had never
smelled or heard that???? The smell was obvious as we stood
in the Jockey section.
I decided to try again as I do love the fit and cotten aspect.
I read online to soak them in baking soda before washing.
I have them soaking now. We will see
If Jockey folks are reading this PLEASE do not perfume your
products. It is very offensive for those of us who like your
underwear perfume free.
