3-4 inches down from the top edge, you mean, below the waist? What about coming in from the sides? How far on, say, from the leg openings on your underwear or bathing suit? Sorry but I've never even had a wax before so this is all new to me.

And is a minimum of six sessions probably the way to go? There's a groupon where I live this weekend (not on DC area anymore) and am seriously considering it.

Anyone have a bad experience to report?

Can't answer the question about long-term results, but do NOT pay full price for a small area like bikini. Groupon and Living Social have deals all the time. I paid $90 for three sessions. (Not $90 each... $90 total.)

Well, just like the gal who's insisting on the French stylist, I suppose we all have our own standards of "acceptable". I have no frame of reference for this sort of thing. My $90 deal was at an aesthetic medicine practice. I read the online reviews, saw no red flags, and it was fine. Your standards may vary.

sorry - didn't intend for my question to be snarky. it's not a question of standards - no need for a spa like place or anything. i just want to be sure the place is safe and the people are appropriately trained. do you mind sharing where you went?
