What are you looking for in a new LOwer School Director then?

Perhaps they want someone who will run after vacuous people w/ money with a smile on his/her two faces.

I wonder if the timing of his announcement has anything to do with the timing of the recent legal controversy.

They were a month apart. He's been there for 30 years. How many years does he have to work before he can just retire? The two are unrelated, IMO.

I heard from insiders that he was forced out... it was time for him to go. Although I don't think his forced "retirement" was directly related... indirectly.. no doubt.

The current Head of School at Sidwell is highly regarded and many hope he will restore SFS to its Quaker roots from which it has quasi-strayed.

He inherited a administration filled with issues. That said, if anyone can straighten out the issues at the school, he can.. and it sounds like his firing of Huntington and encouraging the lower school to "retire" is a step in the right direction. I have no doubt the Sidwell will maintain it's academic standards (and possibly improve them in the lower school) and become a better institution from the challenges it has endured and overcome.
