I never understand why it's funny to make fun of obviously non-native English speakers. When I came to this country, I thought it was so great - how friendly people were. I guess this is how people really thought of me - making fun behind my back how I spoke.

I think this woman obviously has issues, but making fun of her English seems a bit low brow. Even for DCUM.

To the OP: many of us are just fine with non-parents posting and wouldn't think a thing of it. Word of advice, though, learn to ignore the rude posters. I think at first when a person is new to this forum, we all want to respond to them to defend ourselves, set them straight or whatever, but most are beyond hope and it's really a waste of your energy. Besides, I think some of them get off on pissing other people off, so if you respond angrily you just show them they succeeded.

Not really - just hopeful that the understanding that accents will translate to the understanding that we speak 2+ languages. Meaning - we speak more languages than you. I may have an accent when I speak English, Spanish and French (my original language is German). But I'm pretty sure I'm smarter than most of you.

I'm not perfect by any means but after reading some responses on here I must admit I'm shocked! People wonder how children learn to be bullies well look here... These are grown mothers bullying people on an anonymous forum. That reaches a new low in my book. This is sad just sad ladies.

While you're at it, Jeff, could you please clarify the Dansko policy? It has been bugging me that people seem to think others shouldn't wear them even though they are perfectly functional footwear. Could you please state for the record that people are allowed to wear Danskos so that they can stop being criticized here on this website by anonymous users? Thanks!
