Not OP, but those calling her an alcoholic clearly have never been on a week long business trip. These are usually beyond difficult with little time to yourself (they figure you have nothing better to do than keep working because you're away from home, etc.), they're stressful and they're exhausting. For a whole week. Cut her some slack. Wanting a glass of wine per night is not out of bounds - that's 5+ glasses, depending on the length of the trip, and she's looking for a way not to spend $50 for those mini-bar or regular bar glasses. What's the big deal?

Not every alcoholic drinks massive quantities. Some people have a few per night bur cannot cope without it. That is still dependence.
