DC Public and Public Charter Schools
| I am in the high 30s - any chance? |
| 352 for us - glad we got in to our local lottery dcps. |
We were #41 (3 year old; English dominant) last year and never got the call. |
THanks - I am still hopeful given they are opening a new campus and there is a new language immersion charter in DC so hopefully some of the demand is distributed to other slots across the city. |
| #462 |
| I'm so confused - does the waitlist take into account the new campus or not? If not, how many spots are on the new campus? |
so will a # in the 30's get in since everyone is waitlisted? Keeping my fingers crossed! |
| where will the new campus be? |
|
I saw somewhere someone mention something about it being somewhere in NE? But I think after next year or 2 years they're planning to move to Walter Reed. At least that's what I remember from the tour. Anyone have more details?
So basically, up to the 1st 60 kids on the waitlist may get offered actual spots at LAMB? So a number in the 60s-80s may actually have a chance? |
|
60-80 has a shot.
New location will be housed in part of a large church. It's not a bad facility, I don't think. It was home to another charter up until last yearish. It's at the intersection of South Dakota and Taylor. Oh, small nice playground and lots of green space in this neighborhood. Also a lot less centrally located than their current space, or Walter Reed. |
| During the lottery draw Everyone was placed on the wait list. They are waiting on charter board approval to expand. If given the approval, it will open up a large number of spots. So high 30s has an excellent chance |
| Does anyone know when a decision will be made about the new campus? |
| I wouldn't call either of those locations "centrally located". I wonder if many families there carpool. |
| We're in the 40s. I will happily drive wherever I need to if we get in. Fingers crossed. |
Yeah, you're right, central, no, but at least close to the divide between east and west... And very north.
