Flower or Fruit....to a boss who is having surgery

When my mom had her hysterectomy, she was most appreciative of the meals friends sent. Not so much for herself, (major surgery tends to kill the appetite for a few days) but so she didn't have to worry about meals for the family. (We were youngish kids at the time.)

If you do go with Edible Arrangements-- they're pretty and fun, and I think a good idea-- be prepared for some sticker shock.

I agree with the pp who suggested Harry and David. They've got other things also, like nuts, pasta, cookies, etc. You can make your own basket for the cost of the items plus $5 and there's an outlet in Potomac Mills if you're in VA.

I've used them several times and the recipients have been very happy.
