Is Komi worth it?

It's fixed. You used to have a choice of the main entree, but they changed that somewhat recently. The first course is a series of appetizers (one to three bites) that has a lot of variety, so if you don't like one thing, it's not a big deal. The main course (when I went last month) was a roasted goat that is incredible.

OP here -- went last night. It was really a great experience...I think of it more as an experience and less as a meal....everyone was fantastic and friendly, and the veggie courses were quite good! Thanks everyone!

13:04 here. So glad you loved it, OP!

For the person who asked where I like to dine: In DC I think the food at Rasika and Blacksalt is really excellent. I've also recently enjoyed two good meals at Central - nothing earth-shatteringly great but very solid meals. (And on the much more casual end, I think some of the dishes at Hong Kong Palace are terrific.) I do think Komi is a lot of fun and some delicious bites - but when dinner costs $150 - 200 person my expectations are always higher!
