Do you name your cars?

Anonymous
Of course. Doesn't everyone? DH thinks I'm strange though. He's got a Honda Accord and it doesn't have a name. It's old, smelly and has carpet on the doors. Any suggestions for a name?

I don't, but my husband does. To me a car Is just a machine to get me from point A to B. BTW, when I met DH the name of his car was the name that I always wanted to name a girl. Naming our first child -a girl- was easy.

I had a friend that had a car that wouldn't quit - she called it Rudy like the movie with Sean Astin. One night she and I were watching Cartoon Network (I think we were like 19) and just hanging out with friends. There was this flying kangaroo character named Kaboobie and she said if my car wasn't named by the next day she was going to call it Kaboobie. It totally stuck.

I have a Traverse now - I call it Travis. I know, not original when you're driving through the mountains in a thunderstorm and have the death grip on the wheel, whatever rolls off your tongue is what it is.

Yes, I called my Toyota, "Toyota," "Buick," etc. Otherwise, I thought it was only something out of "The Dukes of Hazard" or rednecks.

Yes, mine is 'sexy eve'.

Okay, what about a name suggestion for a new (to us) Honda Odessy mini van? We're first-time van owners. She's dark grey, and I think a "she."

My kids call my red minvan "Rocket".

I had a 2006 Volvo XC90 named Sinclair. My first Volvo was named Spank (the Tank).

We called our Subaru Outback the "Panda" because when the morning sun casts a shadow from behind, it makes the compartment look like a head and the side mirrors like the ears.

May I suggest the nickname the "Sultan"?

Misty. Sort of conjures up that nice girl next door who's actually a stripper. Or that stripper who's a really nice girl.

Not Misty. She was the well known prostitute in my small town who was at the center of many broken marriages.
