Do you name your cars?

Just curious if Scooby Doo Subaru was unusual.

I have named cars, but only the ones with character. My current most-common-car-in-America isn't worthy of a name. I had an ancient tank of a diesel mercedes once; it was white, and its name was Moby. When it started breaking down and pissing me off, I started calling it the Dick.

Yes. People find me weird because of it too.

Understood. My last car was Little Blue but I started calling it Manson sometimes.

My first car's name was Hell in a Bucket (Yes, I was a Deadhead in those days).

Yes. And they also get a gender, too.

Can't -- the one would seriously out me.

Absolutely. Even stretching back to when I was 16, I can't think of a car I've ever had that did not get a name. Now my kids are starting to name the cars.

No, but DH likes to "christen" every new vehicle.

The Subaru is my first male car. It's interesting.

My younger brother names his cars. He was leaving it at the airport for me once and he sent an email apologizing for "Charlene" being a "dirty, dirty girl". It was a bit messy inside.

I have never named a car.

Absolutely. If I say the names of the cars, I'll out myself. But a Fiat in college, a beemer through my 20's a volvo in my 30's and now a porsche and a beemer...they have all had names: the beemers' all male, the others female.
