It's a paid ad, and yes they've been on for years. |
Yep- McLean Bible Church. Perhaps giving a comment to WTOP that an identifier that these are ads would be helpful.
Am personally not religious, but have a bit of a soft spot for McLean Bible Church. They do some amazing community service work (extensive ESL classes, job training, home rehabilitation and other restoration work, etc). I may not agree with their religious teachings, but they really take their commitment to service seriously. So thanks to them for that. |
OK, but you can't really come hear to moan about somebody else talking about their religion, if you didn't even bother to listen to the whole thing. If the word "Jesus" caused you to tune out or switch the dial immediately, and you couldn't even bear to follow through to see who you were supposed to get mad at, then you're a little intolerant. Or over-sensitive. Or something. But my bigger beef is, you're wasting everybody's time asking about this. Because with a little less hyper-sensitivity you could easily have gotten the answer for yourself. |
I don't mind these ads, and I find them much less annoying than jingles about where to get my rugs cleaned or buy a mattress. But in any case, all these places have a right to run radio ads. |
I don't mind the ads either. It gives you something to think about. At the end of the little "not a sermon" they identify that it is Mclean Bible Church. Why are you so hyper sensitive when you hear the name Jesus? |
AMEN! |
The Not a Sermon thing is a paid ad.
Chris Core is right of center and Cal Thomsa is pretty right-wing. Some of the midday guys are left-of-center though. |
I was just thinking about how annoying the "just a thought, not a sermon" things were today, driving home. I don't know why they annoy me so much, but they do. I also HATE the government/food ads - I turn the channel every time I hear them...no,no, don't let the gov. tell us what to feed our families but hey, lets let them all up in decisions about abortion! |
They have Colbert I. King as a commentator; I think of him as progressive. |
