Georgetown is VERY liberal. |
|
Ellection returns don't lie. Go back and actually look at the chart and election returns posted by 18:07.
Compared to the rest of the District (not Clifton, Va., but the DISTRICT), a big swath of Georgetown is more conservative than the rest of the city. |
| Capitol Hill is VERY liberal also. While staffers do live there the crappy salaries on Capitol Hill push them out to the suburbs. A few years back on the MOTH site things about politics got very heated. A Rep mother was confronted about her children wearing political shirts at the part. It became a screaming match over how she was a horrible mother because of her politics. |
Both you and the earlier poster are right. Georgetown is more conservative than many precincts in DC. But McCain only got 20% of the vote. No matter how you slice it, an area that votes 80% Democrat is considered liberal. San Francisco went 83% Democrat in the 2008 presidential election. |
Wow. What a Bitch. I'm the poster of this. We live in, and I was talking about, CC DC (although most people I know in CC MD are Republicans too). Sorry I didn't make that clear, but that's no excuse calling someone a dumbass over something so silly. You're the dumbass for accuing me of hijacking this thread. Even if I were talking about CC MD one post does not exactly make a hijacking. |
| Hey Captain Obvious we get it that DC is a very liberal town. No one is disputing that. But there are relative pockets of conservative voters. 20% is a lot in this town. |
Looks like you bet wrong, dick-breath. |
It's fucking nothing. I'm independent...5 years ago my Dh was republican. I'm telling you we wEre the only rowhouse in Georgetown without a "Kerry" sign in our window. It is so incredibly blue. The pockets are minuscule. DC has always been blue to the max. |
| Everyone I know on Capitol Hill are liberal liberal liberals.... not at all conservative. |
| The politics may be liberal, but I find aesthetic sense to be super conservative all over Upper NW, and most often in Georgetown, too. |
This would be a fine time to familiarize yourself with historic districts. |
