Most conservative neighborhood in the District

A friend asked me if there were any Republicans in DC:

I'd go with Capitol Hill by virtue of its location and a I know a good number of Republicans there, but I think Kent and Spring Valley have a lot of conservative or RINO families, even if they don't advertise it.

I think Palisades too.

I thought it was an interesting question. Here are the precincts and the percentages that voted for John McCain in 2008. These are only the precincts where he got 10% or more of the vote.

Also here is the precinct map:

Spring Valley

why would a conservative want to live in DC?
Anonymous
Yes, that's what the helpful PP's chart shows: Spring Valley. Followed by some strange area on the Hill, then Georgetown.

Those are the people who vote Republican.

THe map is interesting - but remember that a lot of people who work on the hill are not actually DC residents and therefore you would not see them represented on the voting map.

For the same reasons anyone else would, you dunce.... some of us do love the restaurants, museums, Metro, history, etc.

Most Republicans I know live in NoVa. As Republicans who abhor NoVa, we've found a pretty large number in Chevy Chase. They're certainly not as vocal as the liberal Dems, but they here!

Ok please don't hijack the thread. Thank you. I'm asking about the District.

Spring Valley. Everyone I know there (maybe 10 families) is a Republican. We are Democrats who live in AU Park.

Another cite for Capitol Hill. When a lot of those LAs and chief Of staffs go on to lobbying jobs and thus become DC residents they move into the lovely rowhouses on East Cap or A st.

Plenty of Democrats live in Spring Valley--like Eric Holder.
