You could always fuck off back there then.

You're kidding right? I about fell over from the niceness of everyone when I moved here from Philly many years ago. I loved Philly, but it was mean. People in service positions I encountered in Philly were appalling mean to this formerly green girl from West Virginia.

I don't find people here any more/less nasty than anywhere else, frankly.

I grew up here and unfortunately it's gotten much ruder in the past decade. I think due to the influx of New Yorkers. Just kidding. But it HAS gotten way ruder. I don't know why exactly, other than the population has grown like crazy.

I think it's a bunch of nancy-pants who don't really want to be here but are here because of the jobs. You see, we have a functional economy in this area.

Are you a tall, thin, young and attractive blonde woman? They like that over here.

Think PP was joking.

All the rude people here must be the ones who hate DC>

I think if you were to take away all the people living here from out of town....DC would be a super friendly place. All the natives I know are good, kind, friendly people.

Again, I think we're suffering from a misconception here. There are a lot of rude people in the DC metro area. Many of them work in DC. But that's a function of the suburbs' generally hellishness. Life in DC proper is actually pretty civil, thank God. Probably because we don't spend all our time stuck in traffic jams. I'd be pissed off too.

This is hardly only a Washington thing ... more like a Northeast thing. I drop the F bomb all the time and think nothing off it. That said, of course I don't say it in front of my kids. Tool.
