Gender Intuition

I had a feeling it was a boy. Also, several ladies in my office with "The Gift" (and 5 kids!) said I was "carrying low" and that since my face was not fat, it was a boy. They speculated that if you are having a girl that your face will be fatter due to double hormones. Another friend used her ancient asian tricks (food cravings, calendars) and also predicted boy. I started having tons of dreams about my little baby boy - very vivid and very weird! I was so convinced and so was my husband that we had really focused only on boy names.

You can imagine my surprise at delivery when we had a girl! I did feel a moment of disappointment since I had one idea in my mind. It was funny, because I didn't prefer one gender over the other, but I was so convinced, that when it turned out differently, I think I was just surprised that my expectation was different than reality.

Now - we have had so much fun with our girl! And - since pink is a favorite color - I have had tons of fun!

Everyone told me I was having a girl, all the old wives tales that you follow predicted it was a girl, I carried the baby like a girl (or so people said). Imagine my surprise and everyone else when a boy came out! I am pregnant again and must admit that I am going to find out what I am having this time around because I would love a little girl. I know I will be so happy with 2 healthy kids no matter what but if I do have the sad moment you are describing I want to have it sooner then later and start bonding. I think it it perfectly normal to feel sad or disappointed at first - heck there are lots of horomones circulating in our bodies!!

I thought I was having a boy from the start, always dreamed that it was a boy. And I was right. But remember, each of us has a 50-50 chance of being right either way!!
