Recommend Your Gas Range?

Original Poster here - thanks so much everyone. We seem to have settled on a BlueStar, with Thermador as a second choice, after hearing some incredibly enthusiastic recommendations for the BlueStar. For anyone interested, BlueStar supposedly has the hottest heat and the most restaurant-like cooking settings. Not that I personally will be taking advantage of it... I just want everything to work. Reading your responses, I am astounded by how unreliable even (especially?) high-end household appliances can be -- I've had a terrible time with refrigerators and dishwashers ...
