Did your DC cry at his/her admissions playdate and still get in?

DC admitted.

Well, he did provide an excellent example of his critical thinking skills, LOL!

Ha - love that! DC really had no issue on separating at that stage - he was just so over the school tours and playdates. It was a Friday and he was tired. Fortunately, he warmed up quickly when we got inside the school and his amiable persona emerged.

But the series of tantrum, gracious offer of assistance, rebuff, then "let me welcome you and your DC to X" will be forever seared in my mind!

i think it's just a developmental thing too. he was completely fine about separating from me in a situation like that six months later...and it's never really been a problem since.

Thanks for this - it made me chuckle. Exactly the kind of thing my son would have said!

My ds lasted 20 mintes of the hour long playdate. It was his 3rd "school interview" and his behavior was so wildly different than the other playdates. It was extremely obvious to me that he did not like the school so we left. No surprise that he was rejected from CHS. Luckily, he got into the preschool he liked.
