Thanks, PPs.

Um, Maryland is a large state - WHICH Trader Joes as there is more than one in the entire state, Einstein.

"Please tell me which TJ this is so I know it's not the one I go to in Tysons Station. "

Was answering the PP above; Tyson's is not in Maryland, Genius.

AND WHERE IN MARYLAND? Again, there are more than one store in Maryland and OP shouldn't poo poo all of them.

I'm not the OP, but have had some bad luck with TJ items in the past (over several years). Cans that when opened - have gone bad. Food that is spoiled when opened. I just chaulked it up to the fact I was buying preservative free stuff - and hey - there's a reason why we started using preservatives.

I still love my TJs but stick with the frozen food and food I can "inspect" more easily.

This was the TJs in Tysons and Baily Crossroads. Again - over the course of several years.

The pasta sauces at the Tysons TJs are the same as the "Maryland" TJs--why would anyone care which specific store the bad sauce came from?

I do love TJs but occasionally have had issues with a few products. Although I liked it so much I kept trying, I had too many bad experiences (mold) with the organic low fat whipped cream cheese.

But the great thing about Trader Joes is that you can bring it back no questions asked. Ive gotten moldy products as well BUT I'd rather return a moldy product than buy something stock full of chemicals and preservatives. I mean, really, which do you prefer?

I often buy spaghetti sauce with dried sauce to the lid as OP is describing. That is not "bad" sauce, it's just sauce that sticks to the lid during shipping and dries a little. Big deal.

Yeah, it just sticks to the lid during shipping the way ink gets smeared on dice during a long journey at sea. Really, no big deal. Or gross, depending on how you look at it.
