| Good luck to everone and thanks for the encouraging stories. |
| This was the earlier poster that transferred 1 blast and 2 morulas. It was BFN for us. We are devastated. This is our 2nd IVF BFN (or 3rd if you count our FET). |
| PP 12:57, I am so, so, sorry to hear the bad news. I am so sorry for your loss. |

OP here...thank you all for your encouraging stories. I'm currently in the 2ww but not feeling very optimistic. We transfered 3 grade AA blasts, RE said they all looked great, but I'm feeling the exact same way I felt during my last 2 2wws. No different symptoms, just the same bs associated with the progesterone/estrogen I am taking. This is just so devasting. Thought IVF would be a sure thing for us since all we are dealing with is male factor. I'm under 35 and very healthy. Starting to think that maybe I have immune issues or something. Becoming very paranoid and depressed.
Poster 12:57, I am so sorry to hear your news. I may be in the same boat as you very soon. |
OP....hang in there! Please don't give up on your little blasts...they need you to have faith in them. I'm hoping for a great outcome! Poster 12:57...I'm so sorry. |

Good luck and try not to get too fixated on the type of embryo (easier said than done, I know!)..
we had horrible luck with IVF but in the end, we got pregnant with an embryo that was 4 cells at day 3 (and we had some at 8 cells on day 3). We did PGD and they decided to use the one that had been 4 cells and we have a beautiful healthy baby... Stay positive.. and hang in there! |
| OP here...thank you all so much for your encouragement and support. Hoping our little blasts are hanging in there. The only 2ww "symptom" I am experiencing is severe constipation! (Sorry for TMI!) But hoping that is a good sign. I'll keep you posted. |
| I'm curious how this turned out. OP - I hope it was good news! |
We transferred a compacting morula and a 7 cell embie which had not divided since the previous day. My husband nicknamed them 'compy' and 'seven'. We now have a beautiful pair of twins, boy and girl, so they must have both stuck. We try to resist using their nicknames - too hard to explain!! Their real names are freyja Catherine grace and eirik Michael Scott

| All of your posts give me hope! This morning we transferred one morula and one blastocyst. We had none left to freeze so this is our last chance. Thank you all for sharing your stories! |
| Posted 20 March, 2013 (Sydney, Australia) This was our first IVF/ICSI treatment. Severe male factor with 0.5 million sperm count, low morphology and motility. At 38years I also had low egg reserves. On the day of retrieval I got 12 eggs, 9 mature and 5 fertilised. At day 3 all 5 were Grade A and travelling great with no fragmentation. By Day 5 we only had one that could transfer and it was a morular. The clinic called on Day 6 and the other 4 embryos didn't progress and none made it to freeze. The morular on Day 5 was a slow grower and I was nervous it wouldn't stick or progress as the others didn't make it. The strong little morular must have liked being in Mummy as I did a home pregnancy test 8 days past the 5 day transfer and it was positive! During the wait I was anxious and had no obvious symptons. I felt perfectly normal. I would occasionally get a sharp twinge in the side or the abdomen but that was it. No implantation bleeding. For me, the only thing slightly out of the ordinary was that I was thirsty and wanted to drink more water. I just got a call from the bloodwork which was taken this morning. The result was positive with a hcg beta of 155. All on track. Assisted pregnancys require a 2nd bloodwork done next week and then a heartbeat ultrasound at 7 weeks. This is when the IVF clinics release you from their care and hand you over to an obstetrician. At that time you are considered 90% success rate to reach full term. |
