It looks like we'll be doing a Day 5 transfer of embryos that have not quite made it to the blastocyst stage. I think the embryos are more at the morula stage (stage right before the blastocyst stage).
Has anyone done a Day 5 transfer where you didn't transfer a "perfect" blastocyst per se but you still ended up getting a BFP? TIA for your responses! |

I did......
He's a trip....full head of hair, talking up a storm and the pickiest eater alive. My little "not quite a blast" turned out to be one special toddler! Your little morula will likely catch up once he's out of that petri dish and in mom where he's supposed to be. Good luck with your transfer.

Thanks so much Poster 13:41. It is so encouraging to hear that these "not quite a blast" embryos can stick around and turn into little miracles!
May I ask what stage of embryo development or what day did you do your transfer that resulted in your positive pregnancy? |

I was scheduled to do a 5-day transfer at Shady Grove. On day 5, all 6 of my embryos hadn't turned into blastocysts. We waited an extra day and 2 had. We transfered two and are pregnant with one.
So, while I didn't transfer morulas I would have had we done it on Day 5... and even after waiting a day those two were okay. Good luck. |
| Yep! I had a 5-day transfer that wasn't quite a blastocyst, and I'm currently due in January with my daughter! |
It was a day 5 transfer. I was told that the development had slowed down and they (2) were still in the morula stage but still cleaving. |
| I just saw my friend's 17 month old twins who were both day 5 transfer morulas (and not very high betas)! |
| I had a day five transfer of a 16 cell pretty-far-from-a-blastocyst and my doctor was very pessimistic. He's now a perfect one year old. |
I did a day 6 transfer of one blast and one not-quite-blast. I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant with twins! I'll always wonder which one was the tough little not-quite-blast that insisted on sticking Good luck OP!

| i transferred one slow growing (barely a blast on day 6, no where near one on day 5), fragmented embryo at SG. She's now 10 months old and asleep upstairs. |
| Wow--I could have submitted this post! I transferred 1 blast, 1 morula (hours away from becoming blast), and 1 not so hot morula. I do my beta on Sunday...so we'll see if any stuck. I'll update and let you know. |

OP here...thank you all SO MUCH for your awesome responses. They give me hope. I go in for a Day 5 transfer this week. Hoping my embies stick...whatever stage they are in!
Please keep us posted on your results poster 16:17! |

Good luck OP! I transfered two so-so embryos, and am pg with one.
By the way, I've heard that female embryos are a little slower to develop in those early stages. |
| Good luck to you, OP! |
| Keeping my fingers crossed for you, OP! Hope to read your posting with the good news soon! |
