
Someone else mentioned this-- I also had the experience of time flying. I was standing up, swaying, leaning on my husband and squeezing his arms through each contraction. I would have sworn that it had been an hour tops that we were in that position. Then I mentioned that my legs were tired, and the nurse said, it's no wonder! You've been on your feet for over four hours!
And I don't know if this is helpful, but I reminded myself that "normal" pain is an indicator of something wrong, so we should be scared of it; that's our survival instinct. Labor pain is a sign of something wonderful, so fear isn't the right reaction. You may find that when the time comes, you aren't scared at all-- just very, very focused. |
