Will Democrats use the lame duck session to ram down some unpopular measures

It doesn't make him liberal just because Bush lowered a bar so low. So again, what are those mystical "liberal" things that were "rammed down the throats" last 2 years?
A health care law that had no public option and guaranteed the private companies lots of new customers, including healthy ones so their profits would not suffer.

I agree with you. Those are all centrist, sane policies. That was more for the leftist critique that "Obama hasn't done anything." He has. He just hasn't delivered the moon.

Yeah, I love how all the Repugs are saying Obama rammed stuff through and now needs to be concilatory, priceless! No one said a peep when Bush, who didn't even win the popular vote, rammed down many policies and lied to the world about needing to invade Iraq. No one complained about his lack of bipartisanship. Republicans like to say Liberals are crybabies but I think they are just hypocrites.

Basically, we live in a country where one party is extremely right-wing in their platform and the other party something most of the world would consider moderately right-wing. So a compromise results in something between the far-right and the center-right. And meanwhile, the know-nothings who comprise the GOP base get to rise up in righteous indignation at creeping Socialism.
