Will Democrats use the lame duck session to ram down some unpopular measures

I don't put anything past Nancy Pelosi and her band of liberal sore losers to stick it to the American people and go out kamikaze style scorching the earth behind them.

"stick it to the American people"

And by that you mean the tiny minority of a minority that voted? They'll do what they were elected to do--which is thwart the conservative agenda by any means possible. And in 2012 it'll be easier, since they'll be picking up seats in a non- mid-term part of the cycle.

Welcome to Democracy in America!

No. Will the Republican governors gerrymander their way to a permanent hold on the House of Representatives?

They will gerrymander in an attempt to improve their results for the future, and they will no doubt have some success. But people change and people move. Nothing is forever and nobody is infallible at prediction. Of course, that's a prediction, so take it for what little it's worth.

OP, what's the matter, a slow day?

Let's hope so, after all they are popular with a large number of people. Go Obamacare!

ITA here. If we don't get a grip on healthcare, we are screwed in our old age and our kids are really f(*&'ed - this country will be on the less developed nation list in 30 years.

Well, since they were too spineless to "ram down" any POPULAR measures during their years of total control of the legislative branch, I don't think it's very likely.

Don't forget that they dild not get Healthcare through when they had their 60 votes, but found a way after the Scott Brown election.

Blame your friends in business for the most anemic job creation record since Hoover. And Bush even cut taxes for them, the ingrates.

Ah, right, "ramming down the throats" with a 59 seat Senate majority. Excellent.

I wish they would, but I don't have much hope. Because so far nothing that has been "rammed down the throats" has been even remotely liberal.

I'm with PP. How about closing down Guantanamo, for real- transferring or releasing the 174 prisoners still held there.... or getting rid of Don't Ask Don't Tell for good. I could also go for some student loan reform and a repeal of DOMA.

Those are all the things that any responsible president should do. It is his job and it was his campaign promise.

It doesn't make him liberal just because Bush lowered a bar so low. So again, what are those mystical "liberal" things that were "rammed down the throats" last 2 years?
