Syracuse is a great option for high achieving students who want to stand out

Maybe if they give more students full rides their financial issues will be resolved.

That’s probably why it’s not a good fit for Virginia residents who a variety of excellent in-state choices. But for kids from NJ, CT, NY, MD, etc, it’s a great option.

Getting into OOS flagships is really difficult, kids who can do this likely have more highly ranked private options than Syracuse, so this is not a 1:1 comparison. Not a good fit for kids from many excellent public choices (VA), good for kids who don't.

My son just finished his second year there. He is on a full tuition scholarship. Campus facilities and resources are first rate and as a high achieving student he stands out and has gotten many wonderful opportunities. He had a great internship last summer, a great internship this summer and built a strong narrative that helped him land a great investment banking internship next summer with a top bank.

Free is affordable.

Id go to Syracuse for free too!
