I think it depends on your program - Tufts is probably the best of the four for med school, BC (CSOM, their business school) is probably the best of the four for finance, NEU is probably the best of the four for a kid who doesn't know what they want but wants guaranteed job experience.

Maybe this used to be true but no longer. See the post about Syracuse's woes - its profile has gone down while BU's and NEU's have skyrocketed, and the latter schools' location has almost everything to do with that.

If Syracuse was in Boston it would be thought of as the equivalent of BU, BC, NEU and Tufts.

Neither are worth taking out loans for - be careful! An undergrad degree at either is not worth $400K

There are over 100 4 year colleges in the Boston area. Totally useless what if

Don't have student there now but just looked at them recently on a day trip to Boston. Not a fan of NEU - way too transactional. Really liked BU for what my kids is interested in. Also, I'm old-fashioned and like a school that has some requirements. For sure going to dissuade NEU and encourage BU. Loved BU campus and location. Didn't like NEU campus as much.

That's usually the opposite of people's reaction to BU's campus. It stretches along Comm Ave with interruptions from commercial businesses so you don't even have a campus feel. Northeastern has more of a campus feel with the way that their buildings are structured.

Which college you pick should depend entirely on major. Pre-med, Tufts. International relations/communications BU. CS/Engineering NE. Business BC.

That's not my description - I was citing a different poster. The context should probably tell you that. Boston and NEU are strong schools.

We live in NYC so BU has a campus feel to us. NEU's campus felt so haphazard.
