Assuming the school at issue is HC, this is a perfect example of why people should take what they read on an anonymous message board with a huge grain of salt. OP’s post makes it sound like an entire school was evacuated during school hours for a gas leak and the school failed to provide any information or communication to parents about it.
This isn’t what happened. The article says the leak was on 6/11 and happened 30 feet from HC. The article also says it was contained within 30 minutes and that students were evacuated during this time. HC was not in session on 6/11, so there likely were few kids in the building at the time, and according to a PP, parents of kids who were in the building for a camp were notified and kept updated. So, OP, your issue seems to be that you were not notified about a gas leak that was contained within 30 minutes at a time when your kid was not at the school. That’s pretty unreasonable and I think you know that. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have made the situation out to be something it wasn’t. |

OP here. It's not Holy Cross.
My God, how stupid are you people assuming this? I'd like to hear from the firefighters here. |
About as stupid as someone who makes a post such as this expecting answers instead of calling the school. |
Firefighters don’t make enough money to send their kids to private school. |
Are you talking about something that happened in like May?? |
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. |
| Why dont you just pull up the local police scanner traffic to see why they were called out there? Its public info. |
It’s a pretty reasonable assumption considering: 1. there was a gas leak at Holy Cross last week that firefighters took care of in under 30 minutes and 2. you’ve provided almost no details about what happened. In any case, talk to the school and the gas company. Firefighters would not allow kids back in the school if there was a danger. But, I agree that, if school was in session, the school should have notified parents (of nothing else to avoid speculation like this). You haven’t given any evidence, though, that the school is hiding something. |
You're a clown, OP. I'm done with you. |
| Spouse of a firefighter here. I have absolutely no idea what school OP is talking about, but I can tell you that my spouse has been on MANY gas leak calls where the actual issue was either a skunk passing near the air intake or someone smoking pot nearby - both smell similar enough to gas and get called in as gas leaks. As I said, no idea if this was the issue, but it could have been. |
| Ok, OP, if not HC, then which school? |
OP already said it wasn't Holy Cross. Of course, OP also sounds a bit unhinged. |
Name the school. It didn’t happen. |
