Interesting or cool families at your school?

i just read the piece and she sounds like a terrible person.

and even though i think Julie sounds not interesting or cool, it's not cool to share where her kids go to school.

unless she has publically said something - i would not say anything.

This whole thread is stupid. You could easily say George Clooney's kids go to my daughter's school without outing anything.

Or the DC version which is more: Trump's kid went to my kid's school and he was (is) a tool.

Everyone knows where Barron went in NYC before Trump was elected in 2016 and the stink of him (and I think Michael Cohen's kid(s) went there also) still lingers a bit on the school. Though to the school's defense, when Barron was admitted Trump was a pretty miserable person but not nearly as evil of a human being as he is now. I believe the other Trump kids went to different schools.

My child goes to school with a number of A-list celebs. I am embarrassed that I probably talk about it more than I should, but I try really hard not to, and I particularly avoid mentioning it to blabbermouths. I have been at various events with them but have had almost no interactions - they almost always act like normal people so I respect their right to want to blend in.

Interestingly, it is the more B-list folks who seem to want attention.

PS 8/29/58 Brooklyn schools have Oscar winners, novelists, artists, directors, journalists, chefs, photographers, fashion (a lot of fashion), athletes etc

My daughter was in school with kids of movie stars…yes, downtown.

I did not think the teachers were mature enough to handle.

Nor were some parents. One gave nanny standing instructions to cancel any other play date if movie stars’ kids were available.

That said, I did race home to attend said child’s birthday party, which was attended by many other major movie stars.

Another introduced me to her baby, but I already knew the baby’s name from People Magazine.

Surprisingly my low key preschool has a news anchors kid and some government bigwig kid. I would have thought they’d opt for the known feeder preschools

But it is very gauche to publicly specify who they are and what schools. And if you see them at the school or a school-related event, you don't fanboy over them.

Just yesterday I found out about a fairly prominent name affiliated with my child's school who I wasn't aware of (we are fairly new). It came up in a natural context, not "did you know that this person is at the school? OMG!"

The way you talk shows how striver you are. It is perfectly natural to be curious about these people. It’s an anon board.

I'm not a striver. You clearly don't understand what the word means. You're low class. Respect their privacy.

Anyone who calls someone "low class" is usually the trashiest person around.

You called me a striver. Someone who calls someone names and doesn't even use the term right is low class. What else would you call it?

I love when people initiate conflict with name calling then clutch their pearls and get defensive when called out on it. I'm not allowed to defend myself? Very Trumpy.

If your initial response was just the second two sentences then we could agree to disagree. But you called me a name. Own it.

And since you think it is OK to do this, why don't you broadcast what elite institution your child goes to with so many celebrities? I'm sure they would be proud to have a parent like you.

PP may not have been referring to you as a striver in the traditional use of the word which refers to socio economic class but maybe in other aspects…there are liberal justice strivers, political strivers, I need to take the moral high ground and correct internet troll strivers…you name the category, there are strivers. Lots of diversity in that sense. But best not to debate PP on semantics anyway that’s a distraction from why she finds you annoying

And anyone who runs to call someone low class is usually low class and insecure themselves. Ie STRIVER

NP: You seem to have a major issue here. Your convoluted logic is very weak. Please stop. Can we get back to the topic at hand.

Part of the reason I am interjecting is to get back to the original post, I agree with that person that one should not be publicly outing celebs. It is scary to me that you disagree with this.

And if you are so knowledgeable and important and feel so strongly about this, I agree with them - where do your kids go to school and who are the celebs? Practice what you preach.
