Rude. I wear out my heels, not toes. If the holes are in the toes then the socks are too small and/or you need to trim nails better. |
Teenage boys. They make strange decisions. |
| Are you sure they aren’t snagging on door thresholds between rooms? Sometimes they have nails/screws that stick up. Years ago I determined this was the main cause of holes in all of our socks and had DH fix them all. We haven’t had an issue in years. My teen/college boys wear Nike and Adidas socks and they last until they look dingy. I wear Adidas. DH wears cheap socks from Target. We never wear socks outside without shoes. |
TEEN BOYS |
Agree that poster was rude! I'm a runner and tennis player and have never gotten holes in the toe. TBH my athletic socks rarely get holes, they just get ratty and/or lose elasticity and that's when I replace. I do have some Bombas but my go to are Saucony. My Bombas boot socks get holes in the heel. Its a bummer because the fabric is so soft and I like the construction, but I don't buy anymore because they are too pricy to justify only wearing for a few months. |
| The soles wear through very quickly for DS too. Sometimes holes in the toes but mostly the heel area. Bombas socks were very disappointing for us too. Never again. Now buy the cheap adidas ones at Marshall’s or TJ Max |
Same here - teenage boys! |
| I agree that they're doing something weird with the socks. |
Tell me you don't have teen boys without telling me. |
| Point6 makes excellent socks, and they have a lifetime warranty. |
| I just get a dozen new pairs of cheap socks every two months on Amazon subscribe and save. They get holes. They get lost. They get dingy. The dog gets them. I can’t stress about this anymore. |
|
Another one here to say that teenage boys do bizarre things to their socks, including wearing them outside without shoes. Just yelled at one of my yesterday for this exact thing.
PP, I agree that you need to size up on the socks if they're getting holes in the toes. If they're getting holes in the heel, check that they're pulling their shoes all of the way on and not stepping on the back of the sneaker (or wearing a shoe that is too wide). |
Boys are wearing socks with their sandals. Slides, crocs, etc all with socks. Are they dragging their toes when they walk? Because they aren't working out with their sandals on. |
Fair enough.

You can darn with a lightbulb, any round object but I doubt most people even have a sewing needle in their house. Bombas generosity is paid for by the consumer. Their socks are made in China and Taiwan for pennies and sold here for $12 a pair or higher. The suckers who buy their products need their heads examined because I buy men's Gold toe socks for the entire family and they last for years. |
