Socks!!!! Can’t escape the holes! Advice needed…

Anonymous
Mother of two HS athletes here - has anyone else noticed sock quality is absolute trash lately? Even the best of brands are getting holes in them quickly - advice on best brands that stay hole-free longest. Please don’t say Nike or Bombas - those are the brands failing me most now. At my wits end. Feel free to drop links so I can find and buy quickly. Thank you!!!!

Agree Bombas are trash

These are my current favorite socks—

I see they’ve added a lifetime guarantee now but I’ve been wearing them for years without any problems

Are they wearing them outside without shoes?i’ve got a 13 yo who is banned from bombas wearing because of this. They get holes instantly.

I’ve trained for marathons in my bombas. I have pairs that are 10+ years old. They last forever if you wear them with shoes.

You need a darning egg. Alas I can't tell you where to get one.

My basement. Come on over. I'll hook you up.

Where are the holes, toe or sole or heel? It may be a shoe fit issue or they may need to clip their toenails.

Wow, this is rude.

I’m the bombas/5 marathons runner poster above and have never gone the toe of a sock. Neither have any of my sporty kids.

I agree w/ pp, you’re buying socks that are too small.

It's not the socks - it because kids wear them without shoes all the time.

I will say that weirdly, both my kids have the ubiquitous Nike socks and the ones purchased from Marshall’s/TJ Maxx are way better quality than the ones from Nike!

I have never gotten holes in my toes only heels. Same with a very active DH. So this is weird to me. Costco socks?

Who TF wears socks outside without shoes? Barefoot, sure. Shoes and socks, sure. Shoes without socks, I guess. Socks with no shoes, WTF.
