Why are dog owners so irresponsible?

As if we don't already waste enough plastic collectively, the poop need it's own plastic.
Bury the poop. Walk around with a small shovel/digger.

That’s the thing - it clearly wasn’t one person as there were numerous types of bags. We didn’t realize until we got the notification from 311 that people were doing that. I had to pull the dog shit bags out with gloves and staple the yard waste bags shut. I’m debating whether I should put up a sign.

Oh. My.

Kills the plants, not the dogs, ding dong.

Nothing wrong with putting a poop bag into a TRASH can that has not been collected yet that is obviously sitting out for collection.

Yard waste? No
Recycling? No
Empty can? No

We live in the Logan/U Street area and every weekend morning our street is full of litter. We don't blame all young people for the litter though.

We had yard work done and the landscapers left the bags at the front of the house for collection where our trash is normally collected. Dog owners started using the yard waste bags for their dog shit and DC 311 would not pick them up, labeling them as contaminated.

Disgusting.

Your landscaping people should have taken their trash with them. They didn't and so you should have put all the bags in one large bag and put in large trash receptacle.

OP did everything correctly. Why are you attacking them with lies? In my street, all the yard waste goes on the curb, either in a properly labeled trash can that says "yard waste", or in large paper bags. Sometimes my neighbors have a DOZEN large paper bags. There's no way you can put that all in one receptacle.

I'm not trolling at all.

Where does OP live? Aren't there trash cans in the neighborhood?

I’m in NW DC and yes, there are trash cans. Geez, why on earth would I make this up - if I could come up with something like this, I would have instructed landscapers to staple the bags shut, which now I know we have to do.

If it’s someone’s personal trash can then nope.

Not in my yard... and aren't some of you humiliated bending down and picking up the crap of your animal? These are pack animals who respect alphas and you position yourself as the lowest kind of servant. Weird.
